2020 Parade Route & Details
About the 2020 Theme
From the first Omaha Pride event in 1985, when we marched to remember those who had been lost to AIDS, to our present celebrations of freedoms gained and those yet to be won, Pride has grown in attention, respect, and achievements. Over the years as more and more people began attending, Pride events in the area expanded—bringing a greater sense of community to our celebrations.
In 2010, this continued growth and greater sense of community inspired a proactive group of volunteers to form a sustainable, inclusive regional Pride to help facilitate larger community celebrations. Through their efforts, Heartland Pride was founded to honor the work of those who came before them and to celebrate the community achievements yet to come.
On June 6th 2020, Heartland Pride will celebrate its 10th Anniversary and a decade of celebrating and promoting the history, diversity, and future prosperity of the LGBTQ+ community of the Heartland.
