We welcome our patrons to experience different productions that engage their critical thinking and expand their perspective. We also understand that some works or performances are not for everyone. Appropriateness based on age is subjective and a decision best made by the informed adults guiding a child. To help our patrons determine whether an upcoming show is appropriate for their families\, we have developed a rating system designed to provide context and information \n21 & Older: This material in this show is most appropriate for adults over the age of 21. It’s located behind the theatre (north) at 6035 Binney Street. When parking is available\, you will see a Benson Theatre parking sign at the edge of the lot. \nCHI Health Clinic:  This parking lot is available Monday-Friday after 6 PM and Saturday-Sunday after 3 PM. It’s located in the southwest of the theatre at 2734 N. 61st Street. When parking is available\, you will see a Benson Theatre parking sign at the edge of the lot. \nPublic Parking Lot: A free public parking lot is located at 2729 N 61st Street. This lot is first come\, first serve and is not managed by Benson Theatre. Please obey the parking lot signage when using this lot. \nOn-Street Parking: Benson also has on-street parking with some restrictions. There is a 2-hour maximum from 8 AM-5 PM on Maple Street and Military Avenue. There is no parking allowed on these streets between 2 AM-6 AM. \nPlease note: The lot directly behind the theatre is not open for theatre parking. This lot is the property of Haney Shoe Store (located off Binney street in the back of Haney’s Shoe Store and Virtuoso Pizza). \nWe also highly recommend and encourage the use of carpooling to events with friends and family and multimodal transportation to reduce the difficulty in finding parking for an event. On weekend evenings especially\, we suggest arriving at least 30 minutes early to allow ample time to find parking. This deeply human comedy-drama shows the complexity of dealing with a crisis at a time when little to no hope was on the horizon. Visit with NAP Staff before the film and after\, join them for a dialogue about the past\, present\, and future of living with HIV and learn about Nebraska AIDS Project services. \nAbout the Moderator \nAndres Di Bernardo is an Omaha writer who doubles as a Prevention and Outreach Specialist at Nebraska AIDS Project. They use various mediums\, such as film\, prose\, and poetry\, to highlight social injustices with the goal of strengthening community bonds. \nAbout the Panelists \nTommy Young-Dennis\, born in Omaha\, Nebraska\, is a gay Black man\, LGBTQ+ advocate\, HIV activist\, and educator. After being diagnosed with HIV+ in 2010\, Young-Dennis turned his devastation into action. Tommy has been awarded the Young Black Influential Award for his Advocacy as well as the Kuwasi Balagoon Award for his work on HIV education and Outreach from Black and Pink\, the nation’s largest LGBTQIA+ Prison abolitionist organization.\n \nAndy Dillehay (he/him) is an artist from Lincoln\, Nebraska\, whose life dramatically changed in 2011 after he tested positive for HIV. Combining his artistic endeavors and passionate work in HIV prevention\, Plus Magazine recognized Andy as one of the 75 Most Amazing HIV-Positive People of 2016. He strives to inspire through his resilience and commitment to making a difference. \nMargie Dumas is an advocate with years of experience in the social work and non-profit sector. Twenty years ago\, doctors diagnosed her with HIV. Dumas says her diagnosis went from heart-wrenching to a blessing in disguise. She aims to dismantle the stigma attached to HIV by sharing her story.
